When I think of seahorses, I think of some beautiful crystal clear tropical sea, and when I think of the Hudson River, it's of a murky river running though a massive metropolis, concrete shoes & pollution. Never had I put them both together. I was wrong.

Fun fact: They actually started out as regular land horses that fell into the Hudson and were immediately mutated by the water's toxicity.

I spent most of my younger years in the Hudson and NY harbor and never saw a seahorse.

I had to give it a second, because at first I was seeing a pipefish in the foreground and seahorse in background.

Both awesome, and very cool to know they’re in the Hudson.

Pine Creek, the largest tributary of the Susquehanna's West Branch, used to have eels and clams. Probably the whole river system but the Ranger I talked to was only working above Slate Run.

When were kids my dad brought us to the bayou to catch "critters" for our aquarium. We caught a few seahorses. Alnog with grass shrimp, baby gar fish, crawfish, tiny crabs, etc.

This is in S.W. Louisiana.
