Just wanted to share my experience driving over to my buddy’s place yesterday.

Pulled up to the stop sign on rt 7 and saw a tractor pulling a couple of hay wagons barreling right along. The line of cars behind went for a while, but not the longest I’ve seen. Classic fall stuff.

I go straight across 7 and stick with local roads to avoid that tractor traffic. I see what looks like a tricked out “little rascal” type scooter zipping around a dooryard. Get closer and realize it’s more like a customized three wheel Vespa than a power chair. Lots of chrome. Fancy rims. And of course, streamers on the handlebars. The driver was an older folk, smiling ear to ear and seemed to be testing it out for the first time. Neat.

A little further down this same road, on the left this time, I see a car driving around in a front yard. Turns out to be a race car from thunder road (#10) being driven by a little girl. Probably about ten years old I’d guess. She’s taking it from front yard to front yard, house to house, before turning away from the road and heading out back. Looks like shes super focused and really stretching to see over the steering wheel. Also neat.

I proceed through the barrage of fiery orange and red leaves for about a mile and see even more signs of life. This one is a wedding ceremony. Outdoors, top of the ridge, overlooking the Champlain valley and the ADKs. Absolutely gorgeous.

Shortly after that the road turned to dirt and it was just me and the leaves for the rest of my drive to my buddy’s place. Pretty cool place we live. Warmed me up a bit to see so many of us all having a good time yesterday. Happy fall everyone.
