We’re looking for a large (5+ bedroom) house to rent in or near Burlington for a week in summer 2023. We live in CT but want to do a family vacation up there near some other family. I’ve been searching on AirBnB and Vrbo but the admin and cleaning fees are adding up to insane amounts.

Any ideas on other more local places to look for a vacation rental? Maybe a local realtor that does summer rentals or other ideas you can think of? TIA!

One place to check thought it’s not super close to Burlington but do tend to have summer openings.

Stowe probably has other listing too for summer rentals you could search for. Most ski towns are the places you’ll find with more openings for summer rentals.

Yes, totally understand! I’d rather pay more to the host than to companies like AirBNB or VRBO though. I feel like those admin fees definitely don’t go to the host.

Try looking into Basin Harbor, south of town. A bunch of small cabins and a couple of houses on the lake. Good for dogs too if you normally kennel them.
