After spending over $5k fixing an oil leak on my Mercedes and spending $500 to change the oil in my Porsche every few months, honestly a golf cart that I can just jump in and go with no maintenance is exactly what I want out of a daily driver.

What you want is a Corolla or a Nissan Leaf if you want to go electric

Unfortunately the spontaneity is restricted to making sure you stay close to home and don't run out of juice.

It’s not that bad, you can go pretty much anywhere on the supercharging network and it’s fairly quick. I have my a8l tdi that gets a 1000mi to a tank if I need to be somewhere in a hurry and am time limited. Otherwise charging calculates to about 20 min every 200 miles driving 85mph

It great to leave your house everyday and have your full range available because it charges while you sleep. When you plan a trip, the nav tells you where to stop and charge. It is harder to run out of juice in a Tesla than it is to run out of gas in a gas car.

Or you could buy a Nissan leaf for a lot cheaper.
