Yea. Just an fyi CoHi and L’Enfant locations are open to the public.

I went to GW’s campus last Fall looking for Chick-fil-a break and a student told me before I walked in it closed 💀

The Pentagon has a DC mailing address even though it's in VA. It's weird and it's obviously messing with Google Maps.

Is it the same with this popeye's?

So the popeye's is definitely not there. I tried to go once. Are they underground? I am so confused.

As a Midwesterner, I had a similar reaction to the Steak N Shake that opened in the Capitol complex. (which I think is now closed, anyway 😭)

Not sure if this is related, but all federal agencies have zip codes that do not align with their physical location. This is because the mail goes to an off-site screening facility to be irradiated for anthrax (and I assume other things) before it is delivered.

Ashamed_Band_1779 t1_j9gklly wrote

Why? The location in your screenshot is nowhere near the pentagon

20

Animaled t1_j9glvg6 wrote

The Pentagon has their own food court and it's referring to that, the zip code is just causing weird stuff with Google Maps. The area listed in the map is currently the McMillan pit that's being built out.

I do wonder what's going to happen to these erroneous bussiness listings once McMillan is built out in like 6 years.

That is not the Pentagon. If you are near the Pentagon though there is a Panda Express in the mall at Pentagon city.

Lol.

It's unclassified in the general building. They've tightened things up, but the Pentagon wasn't much different than any military installation. Any person with a valid reason could get a visitors pass and wander the hallways.

Only certain rooms are classified spaces.

hemlockone t1_j9i0lii wrote

If you click that on the map, it lists it as "2024 Concessions Pentagon, Washington, DC 20310". No idea why they Google maps puts it in the middle of an Army Corp water treatment building. (I don't know how many people work there, but I can't imagine it's enough for a big food court.)

Happened to me too. And I was hungover and REALLY craving Panda Express when it happened

1

Hugh_Mungo t1_j9ii672 wrote

This Panda express is in the food court on corridor 7. They have 2 food courts there with other fast food places. There is also a sbarro and Dominic's on different floors that have their own seating areas, as well there being a separate outdoor food spot that's in the center of the pentagon.

This reminds me of the time I tried to go to a Starbucks on a military base, only to be stopped by the guards who told me I was a fucking idiot.

Same thing happened to me a few years back with a disc golf course on an army base in AZ. My friends and I drove an hour before realizing that there was an army base there and that we couldn't get in. I wish Google could've said something about that lol

If you are being serious, without knowing your background there are a million ways to get a clearance.

You could just a get one of hundreds of thousands of jobs as a contractor for companies like Booz Allen, Accenture, or thousands of small businesses. They need people to do any number of jobs.

For example, while food service is unlikely to be cleared at a Secret or Top Secret level, facilities maint. can be.

You can also consider joining the army, navy, air force, reserves.

MishimaWasRight t1_j9k29ct wrote

I was mostly joking, I have a full time job working with at NGO in DC, but I am currently looking into the Army Reserves as a way to get Intel experience and clearance and generally boost my career. Plus national service is very important to me

Good47Life t1_j9k5lrc wrote

We have a couple of food courts and a restaurant so workers don’t have to leave the Pentagon to have breakfast or lunch. There is also a few 24/7 options for shift workers. The main food court is on the ground floor, and others sprinkled throughout. There are also, banks, credit unions, dry cleaners, jewelry store, CVS, clothing, shoe shine/repair, vendors, flower shop, optical/vision, barber sho, etc.

I love Pentagon City, I'd go there a lot in my GW days a decade ago or so. Unfortunately with online shopping cutting down on mall patronage in general I feel like Tysons might fatally undercut Pentagon City.

Happened to a friend of mine except with the luggage store lmao.

She actually went up and tried to go in and the guard was like “ma’m this is the Pentagon.”
