From Bethesda and northern suburbs, you can take MacArthur /Canal Rd , Massachusetts Ave or River Rd/Reno into downtown

I've been looking at Bethesda. Is using the metro viable for getting into the city? I need to get to JBAB, I'd figure I'll take the metro line, and bike the rest of the way after getting off the green line.

If you can bike to the metro at one of the many stops on the red line it should be OK.

Arlington might be closer .
