Good idea, I used to have 2 elderly dogs but they passed away last year. Now I have a cat, though not quite the same. :)

I was feeling similarly about life and this city as you described in your post. Now I have a puppy and I have several pleasant interactions with strangers every day and it has definitely altered my perspective for the better.
On the flip slide I just bathed my princess for the 3rd time in 3 days because she rolled in poop AGAIN on our walk in the park today. So it's definitely work, but I'd say it's worth it. It's not like I was spending my time productively before, and now at least I'm out walking a couple hours a day and talking to people.

Awesome, ya, dogs are a lot of work, but they get you outside interacting with folks. Thanks for sharing, and take care!
