France is not in the state of war or conflict. There is no reason for refugees and asylum seekers to illegally cross from France to Britain because their lives are not endangered by being in France or other european country. If they want to travel, they can do it legally. Otherwise, they are committing a crime and should be treated as criminals.

If people are seeking asylum do we not have as much responsibility as France to help some of them? Many of them might have learned English as a second language and not French, some will already have relations in the UK who can make their transition easier.

Is it not possible to seek asylum in a legal way? If it is possible, why commit crime by crossing illegally? I have some relatives in other countries, but I would not go visiting them just by crossing the border illegally.

The home secretary suella braverman couldn't explain a legal route for a hypothetical asylum seeker to enter the country when being questioned about a year ago, there's a good clip you should watch. The tories have made it much more difficult to enter the country to claim asylum and all that happened was an increase in small boats and a bigger smuggling black market. We should be checking people as they come in not making conditions where more people illegally entry to the country.

Visiting family is easier than seeking permanent residence.

We don't ship criminals to Rwanda, so that's not really a good comparison either. We need a coherent policy, not Tory wank or Labour wank.

A refugee is someone who feels their life is in danger, when you travel across several countries, anyone of which you could claim to be a refugee to get to another country you aren't a refugee anymore

I agree with you on that, but I don't agree with sending them to Rwanda. As I said, we need a coherent, workable, legal policy that can scale up as needed, and we need it soon. "Let them all in lol" and "Send them to Rwanda" are both dead ends.
