France is not in the state of war or conflict. There is no reason for refugees and asylum seekers to illegally cross from France to Britain because their lives are not endangered by being in France or other european country. If they want to travel, they can do it legally. Otherwise, they are committing a crime and should be treated as criminals.

I want them to succeed, but not only for the main reason they want to succeed. I want them to succeed, because it will have a big impact on russians. Putin lied about many things, but the biggest lie, that his loyal older electorate even now can not forgive him, ir raising retirement age. He specifically promised not to, and then did it. Official russian media try not to cover such news, but russians on social forums actively discuss, and make comparisons. One of Putin's slogans is "you want to live like people live in rotting west?" And the next time he asks that, I want more russian people to reply "yes, we totally do!".

Oh yea, this ribbon again. Pretty controversial topic among russians. Goverment tried to force it as a symbol of ww2 win, but it has too many similarities with ribbons used in Imperial Russia and some war medals. Also, people tied ribbons to their pets, sneakers, bottles of vodka, and cars, and it made the ribbons look tatterered and dirty. It quickly lost popularity, like everything forced by the government, and now is only sometimes used in 9th may celebrations in Russia.

Is it not possible to seek asylum in a legal way? If it is possible, why commit crime by crossing illegally? I have some relatives in other countries, but I would not go visiting them just by crossing the border illegally.
