It’s great how Finland and Sweden are sticking together and everything but I’ll admit, Finland specifically joining NATO would be such a blow to Russia that I’d almost rather defer to Turkey on Sweden if it meant Finland would still join up.

It would be an even bigger blow to all the values Finland holds dear if they bended to Turkey now and abandoned Sweden. That will only happen if they are 100% certain Turkey will never let Sweden in. It's still election season in Turkey, I can almost guarantee that Erdogan would milk that situation for all it's worth and would make impossible demands from Finland as well. The fact that Erdo said that he wouldn't means less than nothing. It's just not worth it. Both Finland and Sweden can afford to wait until July and let cooler heads prevail

As a Finn I'd rather we not join if the absurd reasoning from Turkey wins out. It would feel like a betrayal of our values, and of Nordic camaraderie. It would also be proof that NATO is fundamentally flawed.

There's also no guarantee that they won't instantly flip and start the exact same shit the instant we 'abandon' Sweden. I'd actually assume it would happen considering their track record the past year.
