Sure. If you find they’re not warm to it because of the paranoia you’ve referenced, depending on your town’s specific requirements, you can type something up, get the required # of voters to sign it, and it has to go into town meeting for a vote. Bylaws by the people!
1000thusername t1_jebs73h wrote
Comment time is enshrined in bylaw where I live, and town meeting would never agree to repeal it.
Not sure where you live, but look into a citizens petition for town meeting to pass a similar bylaw to ours where every committee meeting must have comments as the first item. Not optional.

Rocco’s in Rowley is good. Sportsmen’s Barber in Beverly also.

Tewksbury is an okay place. Good highway access. Decently quiet.

Do you know where you will be teaching yet? That would help us better focus you toward some reasonable places with reasonable commutes.
And (future) welcome to Massachusetts. Congrats on your (future) escape from hell.

I haven’t used my car today, so I’m not sure. But now I’m concerned and afraid to go look.
Also north shore.

Hahah it’s the sad truth too. I used to work over at BU but coming from the north, and the crawl from the Bunker Hill area to the office was longer than the other 25 miles. And the T for that path was even worse

Ok I will check it. I just filed all that stuff away as it arrived and didn’t stop to notice it included this payment. Thanks

Should we now be expecting additional 1099 from ma, or should we just look it up in our bank accounts and report it?
Wondering if I should wait or just scrawl it on paper for the accountant. I really want to drop my stuff off already without more waiting.

So you:
- don’t know where you want to live
- haven’t done any of the research yourself re: school etc
- don’t know what houses cost where (an easy search…)
- what is and isn’t a one hour commute radius
Got it.
I work in Cambridge and live in about what you’re seeking, but the level to which you want everyone to do your basic research for you is grand.

There will be. Towns are being stupid filing plans, but considering zoning changes in most towns have to be approved by super majority at town meeting, this shit ain’t going to get any traction just about anywhere

I absolutely plan to vote No on the zoning changes at the town meeting if my town doesn’t reject it before even trying (and absolutely failing miserably) to have the zoning changed at town meeting.

Just as long as if you opt out of the health care part you don’t show up to a hospital and expect anyone to treat you because in your “opt in/opt out” world, you opted out.

To be perfectly honest, they’ve probably wanted to drop citizen comments for a long time and now they think they have a life raft to do so. Sink that raft.
