Yeah way more mild winter these days than 30 years ago when I was a kid. Now there is no snow til after new year usually. The ski resorts have snowmaking so you can still go ski but as far as natural, we don’t get too many white Christmases anymore.

Sunset was awesome last night as well. The views as sun was setting on the snow capped mountain as I drove down lower pleasant valley and to my buddy’s house at the base of the mountain was just awe inspiring.

The above is mostly correct except I think right now we are in a plateau due to both the interest rates being high and AirBnB bookings being in a decline, with exception of very popular locations like ski towns.

Prices aren’t really dropping nor will they, like above said even in 2008 VT was pretty unaffected, but some homes are sitting on the market a bit longer so it’s not as dire to find a place as it was 2 years ago.

Overall, if you can’t afford to buy now, then that prob won’t change anytime soon unless you increase your income significantly or can get together a solid down payment, or both. Best of luck tho.

Obviously the intention is to never have a run-in in the first place, or to scare them off if I do. But as you see here, that’s not always what happens and you can be blindsided. Bear spray would be the first choice, but if that doesn’t work, better a dead bear than a dead human. So I see it as levels of escalation. Better to have it and not need it…

Because he is a dem in Republican clothing. This way the republicans basically have to vote for him and the state stays pretty blue. He’s pretty centralist if you ask me, which is a good thing. You don’t want far right or far left.

It really depends on the context of the situation as well and the culture the “flat lander” is coming from. Some folks from very outgoing places feel we are cold because we don’t hug every person we meet or greet every person we pass on the street.

Also, don’t come here and start telling us why our way of life or politics etc are wrong. That I think will rub anyone the wrong way. I hate transplants that are like “yeah I had to leave California, it’s such a disaster politically and economically” and then try to push for policies that mimic the same place they came from.

Here’s a question: Is there a sufficient place for them to turn around once they realize they weren’t supposed to go up 108? Because I could see how they don’t see the sign until they are on 108, but not having a good place to turn it around without assistance. So maybe if on each side there was a dedicated tractor trailer turnaround spot before the point of no return, that might save us having them actually get stuck.

If that is not the issue, then sadly you either need a guard standing there 24/7 to stop trucks from entering (not feasible IMO) or install a sharp S-curve that they can’t navigate beforehand.

I have the same problem with a current pair of bindings and it’s the heal strap. It’s too cushioned, so I’m order to get a snug and responsive fit, I have to crank it down, which then pushes down on my arch too much. I’d either get a more firm/stuff boot, or buy different heal straps, or both. If you have Burton bindings, you can buy their current heel strap system for $20 each and should help prevent that issue.

I was just at the Burton flagship store in south Burlington (80 industrial parkway) and to my surprise they have one of those laser foot modeling machines that some footwear stores will use to fit you for running shoes. I believe they also sell Superfeet insoles there, so if you need better arch support that might be an option.

IMO Burton makes the best stuff anyway, especially bindings, so might as well check it out and talk to the shop folks there, and try some stuff on. There is a reason every other binding company has straight up cloned their heel strap design, it’s the most comfortable.
