Holy crap, how are people taking my wisesass comment as a mythical attempt to subvert their Constitutional Rights? I was wondering the same. A lot of the searches I did on the pattern looked like secondary wing feathers from a hawk. Could not find anything I'd call a solid match though.

I cropped a closeup of the feather and did a Google Image Search. I can now say with confidence that it belongs to a Striped Skunk.
