The fan was only for speeding up the process for getting the room up to temperature after it's up to temperature they don't need it.

Yes they are a resistive heater but how the energy transfer takes place is what gives them an advantage.

Thermodynamics dude...

What we used to do was put a box fan on low a couple feet away from the oil filled heater to hurry up the process sometimes. They are quite slow at warming up a room but a lot more efficient than most electric space heaters and minimal fire risk. If you can keep them on the medium setting are better yet the low extremely efficient.

True but for cooking, hot water heating and clothes drying I thought gas was the way to go for overall minimal environmental impact. I may not be properly informed as things may have changed with with more recent technology. Plus the last I heard California still having rolling Brown and blackouts and they're pushing to make everything all electric and it just doesn't seem feasible on the timeline that they are going for.

There is in places in California don't remember off the top of my head but I think new construction in Sacramento is not allowed to have gas supplied to a single family home.

Reply to Where (in Europe) can I find a watertight tarpaulin for my outdoor furniture that actually LASTS. by Henryfred86
I believe you call them Lori's over there but the repair shops that install and replace 🚛 trailer tarps would be a place to check out. I buy the used ones off dump trailers for covering hay bales for $20 a piece and most of the time they are in quite good condition yet. When im lucky I get ones that were used for grain trailers, they are much more particular and replace them much sooner than gravel and coal haulers do. They can also customize the used ones usually to your size and tie down requirements not going to be cheap but will definitely last they're like a rubberized canvas here in the states.
