You need to go drink some green tea. It counters the effect of black tea.

The second chart on this page is interesting
https://www.longtermtrends.net/stocks-vs-bonds/
Shows how crazy the market is compared to so an early 40 year window - so ya, good chance we won't repeat this as much if it was due to deficit spending. It also shows how much worse bonds have performed.

I think the idea is that the returns are so much better and for people who have enough, the well is deep enough to survive the down turns and on the long run, come out on top. Seems like it all depends on the ratios of expenses, wealth, and timing.

Interesting. My parents do that. Live off SS and leave the rest in the market so they can earn. They said bonds never did much for them and they have SS to cover the monthly expenses.

LOL. The key word in the book is simple, because the entire book could be re-written to what you said. I thought he recommended 2 funds though.

Reply to LPT request: How to reduce my anxiety? by quantafolia
Might try this
https://health.clevelandclinic.org/box-breathing-benefits/
Can you identify what is causing it, specifically? Then analyze the cause and develop a plan and consider if it is really worth stressing about. Usually the source of the anxiety is something that is not very important. Usually, it is your brain f'ing with you - seriously, Your brain is sending you false signals/emotions and you have to ID those and tell them to go pound sand. Are you going into battle? Having brain surgery? Taken hostage at gun point? Those are valid anxiety reasons. If you have someone you trust, ask them if your reason for being anxious is valid and why it is not something to worry about. A third party perspective helps. You might want to research GAD (generalize anxiety disorder) to learn coping tips.

That's because you are not drinking tequila too. Seriously, how long does the anxiety last? Maybe you are using too much.

That version is a bit too long and disjointed. That being said, AN is suppose to leave the viewer a bit uncomfortable, depressed, pointless, frustrated and confused. It is a movie about war. Scary movies should scare you, romcoms should make you laugh and feel romantic, war movies should . . . well, make you feel like you were in war - which I am told it sucks ass.

Reply to ELI5:Why do we exclude the price of things like Food, Housing and Energy costs when looking at the total number for inflation? by DeludedRaven
So politicians can brag about how great things are when they are not and so companies can say inflation is low when it is not so they don't have to give big raises. This is an honest and accurate response. I think we all know and realize those three items should be included because they make up the majority of most people monthly budget.
