Im not going to read that article for fear that my anti development leanings would cause me to side with Woods.
My mother was besties with a woman who knew Woods' mom very well back in the Cranston days. They all swore he was wonderful. fwiw

Agree with those pointing out the heavy Italian and Portuguese influence in RI. And more recently the Hispanic. Those cultures, at least here in the US, lean to the summer street fairs, Catholic Saint Day festivals, etc.I think a Christmas Market would be a wonderful addition and yes you should start one.

Don't have to be Tupac to be shot in the street either. She'd be dead right now if she pulled a gun on a cop. Use your damn head

Right. Because she hit the "independent journalist" guy first, then went to hit the cop. The court will give that cop plenty of leeway to restrain her in that circumstance. He was wrong, absolutely. Should have been reprimanded. Could have and should have stopped her differently. But he didn't fly out of nowhere and hit her for no discernable reason

The courts will give a cop leave to do almost anything when that cop is confronted with a riot. More so when the cop is directly assaulted. Agree or not, its worth remembering.

Hearing all the "he beat her up" and "he punched the shit out of her" comments and then you watch the vid and its like what?? Where?? If he had punched the shit out of her, she would have went down, there would have been physical evidence. He slapped her and AFTER she swung at him. This is all politics.

This is a very good point that her life trajectory may have improved greatly and the work necessary to make that happen speaks well of her. This assumes that she repudiates the acts in question ofc. Some would vigorously defend any and all theft from big corps ... but that's another debate.
Why does any of this "humanize" her for you though? If someone hasn't committed a crime, are they less human, less real, less relatable? Genuinely curious about this.

Fell asleep. If I remember, he was 19. Paid the family with about 100,000 which to my mind shameful.

It was 25 in 2008 and everyone who knew was concerned. Further, the downward trajectory is too steep. This isn't a gradual loss, and even the WH has called it "unacceptable" Also, maybe don't criticize people for worrying about oil prices when 100 gallons this year could cost them upwards of 600 vs last year's 250. Prices like that can and will drag many families over the financial edge.

This is true, ty for clarifying. However 25 days in reserve isn't normal and is cause for genuine concern. ie If I said, "Today I have 25 cans of food in the basement. Last week I had 35 cans", you would raise an eyebrow, yes?

Explain to me what Putin has to do with the Iraq WMD lie? Bottom line is you, and so many other bootlickers, will cheerfully go to bat for a disgusting, corrupt old man simply because he is not Trump. Horrifying logic. Utterly immoral. This is "if Putin says water is wet, then water is not wet" level thinking. But you do you.

This is a simple exchange so not sure why you can't follow. Why are you ranting about cabins in the wood? Did I say the government shouldn't spend money? No I did not. Again, if the people pay taxes, naturally they should expect those taxes to fund services. This assertiom is neither gobbledygook, nor tin foil hat speak, nor even debatable.

Obviously US taxpayers should see a return on their tax investment. So no idea what inspired that little rant. To the point, Biden is a semi functional, piss poor president. He was a terrible senator as well. Astonishingly bad in fact. Corrupt, tone deaf, and ego driven. He was and remains a war criminal, as but one item on his long list of sins. Trump's sins, and they are legion, do not relieve Biden of his.
