Mortgage interest is usually less than stock returns, so pay the minimum on the mortgage put the rest into a Roth IRA. Unless the mortgage rate is above 6 or 7%

Since the corrections officers were without a contract since 2020 the contract goes back 3 years. Had the state come to terms with the union on a contract when they should have this wouldn't even have been an issue.

I used to live right under the main flight path. Honesty you get used to it and don't notice it at all. For reference I was so close that over the air antenna TV would cut out for a second when a plane was above

Yes, I think the jury basically decided that the kid's driving was so reckless that they don't care that he got shot. It's more about who the victim was than who the shooter was.

It's like OJ winning the criminal trial and still losing the civil case, different standards of proof.

He did get charged, he just went to trial and wasn't convicted. Didn't help that the victim wasn't exactly sympathetic, jury essentially said "we don't care that he was it the wrong that kid deserved to get shot"

There's a whole list of call types that don't get a lights and siren response. You might just be living in an area that's near a major thoroughfare for the fire department. Also the busiest stations in Providence go to more calls than the busy stations in Boston. Engine 3 downtown is the busiest in the northeast.

The 2 streets next to mine they put speed bumps in and the noise increased. People braking hard and then accelerating after the bump.

Big move for the Chief in his retirement from the city. He'll be able to take his 4 decades of experience policing Providence and spread it nationwide.

Providence Schools are legitimately one of the worst in the country. 1000% enroll them in Johnston Schools.

You have people who have begrudgingly followed the rules at shelters in the past but are now going to the armory because they don't want to follow the rules and they can get away with being drunk and high at the armory. The city doesn't really have a say, this is a state run facility, with people coming from all over the state. The tent camp in Woonsocket that was cleared out last week they sent them all down to Providence to stay here, but it is burdening the city with numerous Fire/EMS/Police responses to the armory every day.

It's basically running as a shelter. People are living in there, they only call it a warming shelter to get around the more stringent regulations that a shelter has to follow.

If they live in an apartment complex it's probably not town trash pickup, it's a private contract. I know in Providence the city only provides trash pickup to buildings up to 3 (or 4 maybe) units in size.

No matter what color bin you throw it in it's likely to end up in a landfill anyways. China has slowed down on buying our bulk recycling.
