Well as of right now there has not been confirmation of cancellation. The movie is called Tron Ares and it has Garth Davis to direct. I guess it’s in development hell.

He has said that he is going to star in Tron 3.

Star Wars was an adaptation of an existing work(King Arthur) just in a different setting. But yes I agree they shouldn’t really be compared.

Well not exactly. Your talking about Tron Ascension which was canceled, but Tron Ares was announced in 2020 I believe.
