Well, Poftak was baker's pal so he had no incentive to fix the system or do well in his role - Chuckie wasn't firing him under any circumstance. He literally was just there to collect his taxpayer funded paycheck.

It's one more thing they'd have to maintain and reinstall when doing track work. I've heard stories from the inside about parts being deliberately left off trains after being repaired that don't risk safety or operation, but will protect the mechanicals from premature failure and weather corrosion. I'm told they leave them off because "it's easier."

"pickup shoes" as they're called use the top of the 3rd rail on all of our heavy rail lines.
Blue of course only uses 3rd rail between downtown and Bowdoin. It switches to overhead catenary at airport.

TPD is lazier and more useless than BPD, if you can believe that.

Good luck explaining this to the MAGA crowd.
They can't seem to grasp that pipelines don't produce energy, they transport it.

Sam Adams' zombie. They say if he sees you, he'll attack unless you're holding a bottle of Sam Adams in hand or have it on your breath.

Gas taxes aren't even earmarked specifically for road maintenance. They go to a general fund where they can get spent on literally anything. Cars haven't been paying their own way since the dawn of time.

What a classic way to tell the world you don't know how roads are funded.
Bikes have already paid not only for their infrastructure, but they've subsidized your car's lanes for DECADES.

Anyone: States a widely accepted truth and fact
You: States wild contradiction to said fact.
Anyone: Prove your contradiction.
You: No, you prove your already proven and widely accepted fact.
But I'll play along. Here's 5 sources for you. Now pony up.

I don't feel anyone is arguing against personal prayer in schools.
If people want to pray to a deity of choice, so be it. As long as what you pray/believe doesn't try to get forced, imposed, or in any way impact my life, you do you.
I think it's generally interpreted that any talk of prayer in school refers to that being led or mandated by the school.

My theory is the radical religious right is so terrified that people are fleeing religion in spades that they're trying to force us into a theocracy to keep it alive - all backed by the church.

Unless it's prayer to the god of dunks - then I not only approve - I propose it be mandated.

Same here. You don't oppose an audit unless you've got something to hide.
