I think this holiday is so funny. The utter reverence these people give to this little rodent fills me with so much joy.

The best thing about being able to design at work is that I can channel my inner ‘I hate Monday’s and draw Garfield.

Yup! The medium I suppose is a sand table- I design the art in illustrator and then export it out for my table to read. Homedics copied their design from Sisyphus and their customization is really lacking for what I like to design in the sand.

You have no idea enamored I am by this little guy just hugging the tree.. I just had to recreate it!

Theres a little robot under my table that moves the ball around with a magnet, but I also make the art it can read via my computer so both basically!

Its from a famous Japanese woodblock print! Gashadokuro is the name of the skeleton dude I'm sure he's in been in some game- or he's sold at home depot.

I wanted to try my hand at making different types of art in the sand- and I think Skeletons are really cool.

Interesting question! I've always thought it was doing a rotation, but upon a closer look at my own table, it looks like it's more of a drag. It's hard to tell haha! I really had to look. My marble doesn't have any wear from the constant abuse I put it through when testing my artwork or just having it play my many playlists.

The table itself or the art? I use a Sisyphus table to draw on : ) I was referencing some of Pierre-Joseph Redouté artwork when I was creating this piece.

Its a loose use of the word I suppose. A scientific drawing is meant to visually represent ideas. I can start giving out apple facts if you'd like.

It's a drawing to help represent scientific ideas in a visual way basically. Botanical illustrations are commonly found in science books when learning about plants/how they reproduce/the segments of the plant.

I draw in adobe illustrator :) I export this as a SVG for my table to read. Everything has to be one line, so it was definitely a learning curve lol

The last post got a lot of love! It was amazing to see, and this time I thought I'd share my personal art : ) This is a single line art based off a scientific drawing of an apple tree! It's my personal favorite to date

Another attempt at a classic painting. This time Scream by Edvard Munch. I really love his body of work, especially his studies of the scream (but I'm also biased toward oil pastel works). What do you guys think?

Those are from homedics, which is a rip off from the OG artist, Bruce Shapiro. Theyre also rather limited in terms of customization with like designs and lights

Yeah! When you just let the ball go ham it can produce some really cool stuff! I love to layer the OG tracks with some of the really intense patten ones to see what will happen.

That's amazing! The tables have come so far since its Kickstarter days. I have one of the little guys at home (along with a side table, but I mostly use it for drawing) and I think its so cute. It lights up my room and it feels so cozy now that its cold and snowy.

Yeah actually you basically got it. So THR is THeta (circle) and Rho (straight lines). So I tell the table to spin, then go forward/backward or curve to a certain degree. I'm not the best at code, so I find it a lot easier to draw in illustrator and make the file a SVG. Everything needs to be one continuous line, otherwise the ball gets lost in the sauce

More or less there is a robot under the sand with a magnetic arm moving the ball around in the patten you see. Theres like over 2000 different designs it can do and you can even make your own!
