Reply to Why do we always blame streaming services for cancelling shows but never the showrunner/writers for writing cliffhangers? by [deleted]
I personally would love it if more shows were “limited series” like White Lotus. They proved you could tell a complete story and still come back for another season. If it would have been 1 and done I wouldn’t have cared at all.

Just imagine Lost if they had 3 seasons tops and knew where the story was going. That show was so good for the first couple seasons then they had to stretch it out to milk it for ratings and money.

I got caught up in the hype on the first one and went to see it. The 3D was probably the best use of 3D out there but the story was so generic that I forgot the movie a week later and never felt the need to revisit it. I’m sure the sequel has it’s fans but I doubt I’ll ever sit down to watch it. Other than Aliens and the first Terminator I’ve never been a huge Cameron fan.

I almost forgot Brand New Cherry Flavor on Netflix has a Lynch vibe

I don’t know if it’s Lynchian or whatever but I always recommend Lodge 49 for people that like unusual shows. It’s like the Big Lebowski on mushrooms and it’s a horrible tragedy that it only had 2 seasons.

If you like comedies, Danny McBride has a few different shows East Bound and Down, Vice Principals and Righteous Gemstones.

I would add Sixth Sense to the list. It was a phenomenon at the time and definitely blew my mind the first time I saw it.
