My son had Scarlet Fever once when he was younger, so I’m very grateful for her work!

Reply to comment by tiph12 in ELI5: why is it ok to take paracetamol to break a fever? by tiph12
The problem is that fevers can suddenly spike dangerously high with no warning, and there’s a limited amount of time to try to get it under control before there is harm to the brain. So it’s good to try to control the mechanisms that could cause that by taking medications that lower the temperature. Fevers are designed to try to kill infection, but it’s an imperfect biological response that could kill the person instead of help them. Especially in babies.

Things from our past can still fuck with us years later. I’ve had issues with rejection or potential rejection myself. It’s something I’ve been working on for years.

Have you always had strong reactions to potential rejection? Might be something to speak to a therapist about.

Reply to ELI5: How does citizenship work? Can I (US Citizen) move to the EU and just become a citizen? by _99Percent
It’s up to each individual country. The EU isn’t a country. You can usually find the different requirements on the country’s government website. Most European countries do have language requirements to get citizenship, and the other steps can be pretty hard. I have an American friend who moved to Denmark, and she’s had to take intensive language classes, maintain employment for several years, and other steps. And she’s still not close.
You could get special visas that allow you to stay there for long periods, but again you have to look at each individual country.

GH and GI being the same color makes it look like 1617%.
Edit: Is Qu really that common? I also see that A as a second letter is extremely popular.

Beta did allow porn but not as much was put on Beta as it was on VHS. Also, Beta was already a dying thing by the early ‘80s because the player was $1000 instead of $300 like VHS, and only held 2 hours instead of the 4 hours of VHS.
