I have not read Stardust, but I do enjoy Neil Gaiman's work. If you are a fan of fantasy, you may also enjoy Coraline, The Graveyard Book, Neverwhere, and American Gods.

I always check if my library has the book I want first. If the library does not have it, I put it on my tbr list and hopefully get it as a birthday/Christmas gift lol.

I try to get books through the library/Libby, so I have around 20 books. The books I have are mostly thriller/mystery or fantasy.

I am very similar. If my local library/libby does not have a book I want to read, I put it on a list and hope I get it for my birthday lol.

I read Circe first, that made me pick up The Song of Achilles. I happened to enjoy both.

I think the first in the series is a great place to start!
And thank you for sharing about your Grandpa! My Nana (grandma) loves to read, and I love picking out books for her for Christmas as well. It is such a little thing that I cherish, and I hope you and your Grandpa have a lovely Christmas. I am sure he will enjoy whatever book you pick for him!
