Reply to comment by patco81 in TIL American WW2 airplanes were sent to war unpainted starting in 1943. The polished surface made the planes faster and lighter, giving more range to all planes and more cargo hold for the bombers by PatmygroinB
The Allowable Cabin Load on a 747-400F is 249,100 lb, and the max gross takeoff weight of 836,000 lb, whereas the plane weighs about 350,000 lb empty. 2,000lb is essentially a negligible load when it is spread almost completely evenly across the entire aircraft.
It would be like being worried about the weight of having leather seats as opposed to fabric seats in your car.

Yeah the wood has nothing to do with it for me. It is the shape and size. Even a wooden bowl would be better than this.

Same question: if that odd cupped plank shape was ceramic, and still just barely large enough to hold all of those items, would you have a problem with it? It is literally more expensive and less useful than a plate.

What the hell is wrong with a plate? You gotta cut and eat that thing on that tiny plank of wood?

Totally don't expect a dissertation on the ancient history of a kingdom, but could you point to some good sources to do the reading ourselves? This subject and timeframe has become a great interest of mine lately.
