I just got COVID for the first time last Saturday. It’s no joke and I’ve had all the boosters.

I’m in my thirties and have no compounding health issues but it was still very unpleasant even if I was never afraid of dying thanks to the shots.

But I’m told the first infection is usually a doozy. Still haven’t fully gotten my appetite back.

I’m not sure why you’re confidently asserting that it’s only the explanation you’re offering.

I’ve looked into the HDFC buildings near me. The all-cash ones were cheaper than ones that took mortgages when you looked at comparable units. Clearly they’re not getting more money.

And I asked my realtor friend who lives in an HDFC unit and she said it’s almost always bad finances and an inability to get approved by banks.

Sounds like you’re looking at some pretty extreme cases likely in Manhattan based on the pricing.

If they require cash it’s typically because their coop is poorly-run financially and can’t get approved by banks to take mortgages. So you wouldn’t want that coop anyway.

Trust that the owners would love to take mortgages because it means they could sell their units for more. But their financials aren’t good enough.

I was at some of the protests that these lawsuits center around.

The NYPD had hundreds of officers in riot gear responding to peaceful protestors marching while actual looting took place maybe a mile away in Soho.

Conservatives like to conflate the two (protests and looting) but what I witnessed was completely peaceful protestors being attacked by police (charging at us in riot gear, knocking people down, hitting them, and arresting them) while store windows were being smashed with no police response a short distance away by organized groups.

I think it’s pretty obvious that the police wanted the looting to happen to discredit the protests. And that getting a chance to attack people who were criticizing them was just the cherry on top.

The subreddit r/churning is specifically for maximizing credit card rewards and they have a thread where you can ask for card recommendations.

They also have a flow chart that shows best sign up bonus offers depending on what you’re interested in (travel, perks, cash back).

If you’re interested in Delta or Marriott then I’d check sites like DoctorOfCredit to see what higher sign up offers are currently available. I got the Delta Gold Amex with 90k points not that long ago which was pretty good but they fluctuate often.

Sign up offers are a huge part of the return on getting one of these cards so it’s worth researching those.

I remember reading years ago that NYC transit actually gets relatively little of its funding from the federal government compared to other global cities.

Supposedly other global cities have national governments that recognize how much of a return on investment their largest cities generate economically and so they support their infrastructure more. And other countries are more likely to have their seat of government in their largest city so the lawmakers are more keenly aware of its infrastructure.

But our federal government is sharply skewed in favor of rural states who don’t want to support big cities while taking huge subsidies for themselves.

That one point is the only part of what she said that’s even up for debate. The rest is just literally simping for a dictator (Putin) and calling Ukraine’s post-Maidan government fascist.

It’s just the usual “everything the west does is imperialism and bad” drivel you get from certain morons on the left.

I watched a Genius Bar employee just straight up give a dude something once.

This guy brought in his MacBook that was having issues and the Genius Bar employee hooked up a wired Apple keyboard to run some diagnostics. The guy was like “Oh man I’ve been meaning to get one of those. They look really nice.”

And the employee just goes “I think you came in with it. 🤫” The guy seemed confused so he just repeated “I think you came in with it. 😉” And the guy put it in his bag after they were done.

An ex of mine got a brand new MacBook after hers required like 4 separate repairs for manufacturer issues. That seemed more reasonable but it was still at least a year out of warranty so I was impressed.

I used to work on Foley Square and it was super common for tourists to get out on the wrong side of the Brooklyn Bridge station and then be confused why they didn’t see the bridge.

I can’t count how many confused tourists I helped while just walking around to get food on my break. And I loved it honestly.

Sometimes they’d ask for food recommendations nearby and I was always happy to let them know that Chinatown is just around the corner.

It’s fun helping people experience the city.
