The dudes for which drinking alcohol is 75% of their personality are probably the same (or friends with) the ones for which eating meat is their biggest personality trait. Bonus point if they like to shit on vegans, or consider that buying a plastic wrapped steak in a supermarket fridge makes them manly. Similar phenomenon with drinks.

The term "California sober" does imply California, after all.
