The hostility towards the concept of people wanting to go out without getting drunk is so bizarre to me.
I know people who have unhealthy relationships with alcohol, and it’s been really refreshing over the years to be able to go to places that offer mocktails so that they can still socialize without feeling too out of place.
Nothing about this trend is aimed at replacing bars that serve alcohol or guilting people who want to get drunk. It’s literally just providing people who don’t drink with more options.
I’ve noticed a lot of people who are insecure about their own relationship with alcohol project their issues onto people who don’t want to/can’t drink, and it’s super irksome to see that borne out here in these comments. Live and let live.

It wasn’t even close to 9/11, but fwiw I do remember there being a different vibe that morning.
