I make fun of a lot of stuff here but this one is spot on.

Hang out with good people. Ones who bring you up, not pull you down.

Be with people who are like good food who nurture you, not some convince food that brings you nothing but regret.

I went to the gym 6 days a week for about 3 years. I hated it. I got up at 1:45 AM some days to fit it in my schedule. I tried bullshitting myself that it made me feel better, but it never did. I think about shit while I exercised and would leave the gym angry. Hated every aspect of that fucking place.

Yeah it did.

I got into a career that literally on day one I knew was a mistake. I kept listening to "it's going to get better" and "give it a chance", so I did.

Years went by, and it was still awful. I wanted to get out...I got the same "going to get better speech".

I've done it now for 22 years. I have no friends, paranoia, exhaustion, and live in outright misery. Now I'm told "you're almost able to retire".

I think I know how this will end.

Thanks. If I didn't have a passion for my job I wouldn't care. Everyday I work it's like the movie Idiocracy. You'd think after 21 years you'd get numb to it, but I'm not. Every time I think things are going to improve I just end up disappointed. I tried to lead change and that did nothing but paint a target on my back.

Dude they do it. Where I work there are people who they just don't like from day one and they make their lives miserable. Notice the wrong thing, unturn the wrong stone, or speak out about the wrong thing you're done.

I work in a safety related field in transportation. It's a joke and everyone involved knows and nobody will do shit about it.
