Because the whole issue is not about protecting privacy. It's about protecting US social media companies from competition.

65% of those who reduced their gaming time, spend those time on short videos like TikTok. But this is just a survey to parents, and my parents don’t have a very accurate understanding of how I spend my time, so I kinda doubt the accuracy of this finding.
