I have a friend who REFUSES to give her name, ever. She will use a fake name to order food, shop online, get a manicure appointment, whatever. I used to think she was nuts to maintain that level of privacy. Now I think she's a genius. The whole world does not need our info....I learned that the hard way.

Thanks. It was such a disaster. They kept saying "well you rode in the ambulance" which I did...but what was I going to do, run behind it? The ambulance driver told me to hop in, and I was grateful. I could have called an Uber but that would have been a long delay. So just NEVER give your real/full name there. It taught me a great lesson, very few people or companies are getting all my info from now on.

I took a friend into the JCMC ER last year, and they took my name and number and info just as an emergency contact. Six weeks later I got a bill (no itemization) for 11K for ER treatment for ME. MIND YOU all I did was sit in the chair next to the hospital bed and try to keep my friend cheerful. I hired a lawyer and the bill went away, but NEVER EVER give your info in that ER. The attorney charged me $2,200 to clear it up. I'm still infuriated.

I just spent the whole day today in NYC, wandered around Chelsea, then to Union Square, and then ran down to Soho to do some errands and then home. It was amazing and a very quick trip from downtown JC. I used to live in Manhattan and it would take much longer to get to midtown/downtown from my apartment than it does from Jersey City, ironically. I would not do Weehawken, I think downtown JC is a much better place/vibe. Weehawken has THE most amazing views of NYC, but it is more of a sleepy suburb, in my opinion. In JC you can walk to everything, wander into shops and restaurants, and just truly enjoy city life, and then hop on the PATH to the city and be there in 10 minutes. I love both Paulus Hook and Hamilton Park for neighborhoods! Feel free to PM me if you want more info!

Terrible experience there....TERRIBLE. I was having severe bleeding, went there, was told by the worst doctor on the planet that it was nothing and it would stop on its own. A day later ended up in the ER at Columbia Presbyterian, treated by a gyn who SAVED my life. Turns out it was just a fibroid, she did surgery right away, and it was all over...I was fine in just a few days. That doctor at Grove Street was such a hack, I tell everyone to avoid that place like the plague. Go to the city and find really great care. Also at the ER I had a blood transfusion...that's how bad it was.

No! They are now charging you to get packages delivered. Even IF that's something you can afford, you should not do it out of a general protest. And as others have pointed out on Reddit, it's probably illegal to charge someone to get their US Mail. And they are going to be going INTO your unit to bring you the packages whether you are there or not. HELL NO.

From another Reddit post just a week or so ago:

Should have listened to the online reviews 🤦‍♂️
Moved to the Art House (1st st) earlier in the year. They recently auto enrolled everyone on a new super inconvenient delivery system. The rules:
Change your address to the their other building a block away. Need a package to match your license? Tough luck
Packages will be taken from the other building to ours
A person will deliver each package to everyone’s unit. They have a key and will open the door.. without anyone’s consent.
If a package arrives after 2pm it’s delivered the next day. -wanna get it sooner? Pickup is 5-7pm Monday thru Friday. Missed it on the weekend and you’re screwed.
If you get more than 30 packages a month or weights more than 30 pounds you get charged a an extra fee
Service is $30 per person (on top of amenity fee and high rent). Plus the extra fees from the previous point
No liability
If a package is delivered to our building (you didn’t change your address), it’s picked up and moved to the other building, then back to ours under the rules I described earlier.
You can’t unenroll from this system
They’re doing all of this for operational reasons and the environment. Nothing to do with leechin
