Might makes right, really. You can set up a micronation, but if the country doesn’t like your existence and is angry enough, they might wipe the floor with you.

If we do encounter an alien civilisation, I really hope they have good bioethics, or at least trivially care about us. But yeah, it’s scary a single individual can react so much differently. I sometimes rescue worms from footpaths, but the next person might step on them for fun. I’m a bit worried aliens could be like this, though I’m a bit optimistic in that I think they’ll engineer their own niceness into them.

I personally like to imagine they wear false teeth on their upper jaw.

Yeah, I can tell the difference myself. Carob feels chocolatey, but the aftertaste is different imo

Yeah, I’d love a robot companion interested in my interests! I’d prefer one more extroverted than me to keep my spirits up too.

Absolutely. Aside from the regular benefits of friendship, and the novelty of being friends with a robot, it always helps to have a friends in high places. A robot more intelligence than you could be a very safe option in everyday life, stopping mistakes before they happen and so on.

Agreed. Probes are over engineered for this (makes sense, you don’t want to spend so much on something that’ll just break down and become useless), so they’re gonna last. :)
