Reply to 22 people hurt, including 3 young girls, after SUV slams into Manhattan restaurant: police by 12stTales
I’m all for more traffic enforcement since it does save lives. But the people that tend to drive like assholes, ignore traffic laws and injure people are also the people that flee the police. But chasing people is dangerous. So, who stops for the police? Normal law abiding citizens. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem if there were like consequences to bad behavior when one of these assholes is caught doing something, but well there aren’t. So here we are.

Reply to NYC shootings and murders down: Mayor Adams by Darrkman
Shootings are down but according to the NYPD’s own compstat data rape, robbery, felony asssault, burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny auto are all up. This should worry the average person since unless you’re involved in the drug trade, you’re unlikely to be shot, but all those other crimes are probably more likely to happen to the average person.

Guys like this don’t get to commit this level of stupidity unless they are being protected/directed by someone way higher up the food chain. “Do whatever you have to do, you’ll be fine.” I hate career opportunists.

I can’t stand this type of policing, but the department likes guys like this to do the dirty work. This advances careers. Of course, when it goes bad, you’ll get thrown under the bus and upper management will pretend that they never ordered the code red.

So you think cops did this? In front of a precinct with surveillance cameras. Because that totally wouldn’t have consequences. Edgy comment though.
