On the German side it was the U-bootwaffe that had the highest casualty rate 75%. For the US it was the Submarine force, 20%.

Yea, you’ll pretty much have to make your own. You order an iced tea at a restaurant it’s going to come unsweetened most likely. You’ll have to use every pack of sugar on the table and stir for a LONG time to get it right. I grew up in GA. All my friends look at me funny when I dump 6 packs of sugar in the tea. What can I say, it ain’t good until sugar won’t dissolve anymore.

They are still short of staff, and it can be dicey. Generally it’s ok though.

Silverdale is a pretty nice place. I used to live there. However, if you’re going to be working on the EAST side of Puget Sound, you’re in for a LOOOOOONG commute, and more and more expensive. You will need to factor in that travel time and ferry cost into your cost calculations. Silverdale is pretty much a Navy town. It’s right outside of the submarine base. The town basically lives and dies by the Navy.
As far as surrounding areas and stuff to do, if you are into outdoorsy stuff, it’s great. Good access to the Oly peninsula and lots of opportunities for hiking, camping, etc. Fishing is also very popular, both in Hood Canal and in Puget Sound. Silverdale does have a boat launch, but not much of a marina.
If you’re looking to work on the East side of the sound, I would look more toward Bothell, Redmond, Issaquah, Renton sort of way.

Yea. If you go to Redfin and zoom in on the area, you can still see the ads for the houses that used to be there. Just a little morbid real estate tourism. Some of the houses lost were REALLY expensive.

2017 was worse. The smoke was thicker and there was more ash falling like snow.

Yes, quite surprising. The French have a long history of honoring those who fought for their freedom, both in WW1 and WW2.

Good snow pack means less water problems in the summer. Nice to see it’s not too bad despite the atmospheric rivers shifting south to Cali.
