I bought a leather couch form Raymour and Flanigan in 2008 or 9, still going strong. Leather beat up from the animals but otherwise good.

It's not necessarily weakness. When the law was passed, there may have been things that people didn't like, and didn't want to absorb the law into their contract. Or, they were mid contract when the law was passed and had to wait until new contract to incorporate the law. (This last one is the case for my employer and was why I couldn't file this summer)). I do have an aflac policy but as I wasn't the sick person, I was a caregiver, I couldn't use it)

Municipal employees, State of CT employees, Federal employees working in CT

All do not qualify for CT paid leave. Something with the unions (and I'm not IN a union ๐Ÿ™ƒ) I needed to go on leave this summer and found out that I didn't qualify since I work in one of the above categories. Even talked to my state representative who verified this.

Yeah no they do not absorb the liability. I use an accountant and when I sign off on my 1040s for them to be filed, I also sign off that I do not hold them accountable (ha) for any errors and have reviewed the documents.

My late grandmother was responsible for the firm doing this. The IRS billed her for something the accountant screwed up on, she went after the accountant and made him pay for the issue lol. That was an expensive learning lesson for the firm and after that, they adopted this policy. She was a force to be reckoned with...๐Ÿ˜…
