Stay where I am and keep doing what I'm doing because I'm not in any danger.

Most of the other answers on here highlight the general lack of understanding of how nuclear weapons are used. In no scenario (outside of movies and video games) are nuclear powers lobbing nukes at each other's countries.

Nuclear weapons are wasted by attacking civilian populations, rather they are used on military forces on or approaching the front line, logistical hubs near that front lines, and forward staging areas.

As for the question about fallout and nuclear winter...

In the 21st century we now know that the idea of MAD or nuclear winter is far from settled science. This post over in r/AskHistorians gives a great breakdown on the history and difficulty of figuring out whether these things are even possible.

The Republicans on this town committee sound pretty tone deaf and dismissive. And to a large extent are mischaracterizing the debate.

And now the part that is going to get me down-voted: flags are political speech. ALL flags are political speech, regardless of the message they convey.

That's not my opinion. That's the opinion and ruling by the Supreme Court across multiple cases (Texas v Johnson, US v O'Brien, Tinker v Des Moines Independent School District, Stromberg v California, etc.)

The board took the correct action if it wants to avoid a terrible choice: allow politically horrible causes to fly their flags too or face serious legal ramifications.

The ad won't be considered libel because, well, Mr. Logan is a politician and has played both sides of the issue.

The CNN article correctly points out that Mr. Logan has repeatedly said that he is in favor of abortion being legal. However, he has also stated that he supports the GOP's Commitment to America (CtA).

And the CtA's Government That's Accountable section includes the language, "protect the lives of unborn children". Mr Logan's has not made any conditional statements about his support for the CtA or made any statements that he does not support a specific part of it.

While the CNN report is correct that Mr. Logan is not pro-life, the Democratic attack ads are also correct in their claim that he has expressed support for the GOP position on abortion.

Gah! I hate that term. It flies in the face of what science is. No science should be settled since science is about expanding and improving what we know. No theory, no hypothesis, no idea should be so sacrosanct that we should be re-testing or re-validating. No aspect of science should be settled.
