I don’t know anything about their contract but are they even allowed to be called in off duty at short notice? I know there’s mandatory overtime but I believe they are either already at work or given 8 hours notice. Unless there’s something in the contract which again I have no knowledge about that says they can be called into work at any notice then the first point isn’t really applicable to someone who lives in Revere vs Charlestown.
I do agree with your second point that there is a community benefit to seeing police officers shopping at the same stores you do off duty but obviously there is a major recruiting issue so perhaps something like giving them a year to move in plus 5 additional years of residency required once you move in would help.
They could also look at covering moving costs for new officers from outside of the city as they aren’t getting enough from inside the city already.

This was sometime around 5pm because I saw them as well and I’m almost certain I know who left these out. I think it’s “heavy laden trailer guy” if you’re in the neighborhood you know.

Looks like Amherst St to me. I drove past at 5pm to pick up Chinese food and saw these out there and got real annoyed but was too hungry to post about it

Roslindale isn’t that bad considering there’s a bunch of bus lines going from the square to Forest Hills plus the commuter rail. Not nearly as fucked as Mattapan and most of BHA

Honestly this is one of the better roads to prevent this, there is a sharp turn just before this intersection which forces people to slow down. Unfortunately that comes right after a slightly downhill straightaway so some hot shots do whip around the corner but for the most part it’s not too bad.
Any major changes to the road would likely make traffic much worse.
There is some thought that making Corinth St pedestrian only and making the rest of Belgrade Ave and South St a 2 way vs a 1 way would be beneficial to pedestrians but I’m not sure how it would play out traffic wise

You should return it back to it’s home. BlueBikes are meant to roam from dock to dock not be contained in some hallway

Yeah hopefully that doesn’t happen here haha. I tossed it in the freezer and pan on smoking it maybe for Christmas so hopefully I’m still good haha

Stop and shop has butterball and shady brook farms fresh turkeys for 39¢ a pound.
I grabbed one from the bottom which was actually almost frozen and tossed it in my freezer for later. A $40 bird only cost me $5. Best Black Friday deal out there

I knew I was cooking and planned ahead buying the turkey two weeks ago and taking it out of the freezer on Saturday but I guess my fridge is set too cold lol

I was actually going to do this but Tuesday the turkey was still half frozen so I thought the wet brine would help to work on thawing it out some more which did work. Hopefully it’ll work out well in the cook but only time will tell. I’m smoking it this year on my pellet grill

My bird was 49 cents a pound ($6.50) at stop and shop, paid $3.50 for a brining bag, $8 for an apple pie, a sack of potatoes is $5, frozen corn was $1.50 a bag and cranberry sauce was $2 a can. My family is bringing additional sides like stuffing and green bean casserole but for the most part the whole meal was less than $30.
I also bought a bougie cranberry curd pie from a local baker on Facebook and that was $32 or more than the whole meal itself.
Toss in a couple bottles of Kirkland wine and you’re at $75 with most of it being a fancy pants pie and wine from Costco.
