Yep, one big payment is best. I made a few sub accounts for budgeting purposes but transfers of that size are fine.

I swear I raised three toddlers in a battery powered swing. Slept great in that thing. MVP of the baby years.

I bought a 2013 Mazda 3 for $8K in cash last year. Runs like a top and is actually fun to drive. You can find something small with good mileage and low cost until he’s in better financial shape. Honda Civic or Accord, Mazda 3 or 6, etc.

Oh yeah… well, tint is basically a requirement in Texas, but for what you’re charged, it’s pretty basic tint. I’d much rather take it to a shop and have nicer tint installed. A lot of the rest of it is worthless.

My new policy is to pick the car I want, compete dealers off each other, and insist on picking up the car straight off the truck. No dealer tint, coatings, VIN numbers, don’t even put the front license plate bracket on car.

Yep, and to get the value out of the service contract, she’ll need to make them aware of the contract. Don’t assume they’ll figure it out on their own and apply it correctly.

The Honda service contracts are a pain to work with… whe she wants an oil change, etc she has to ask for exactly the right service otherwise it won’t get applied. Sounds like they loaded her with every upsell they could think of and then she financed it, I’m guessing for 84 months?
She got screwed. Only way I’ll buy a new car these days is directly off the delivery truck: no dealer tint, add ons, no extra anything.

Reply to Does paying your credit cards weekly rather than monthly affect your credit score (positively or negatively)? by FromCarthage
I do this, has a small positive benefit of lower utilization, but that’s not a significant reason to pay them off weekly.

How long were you married? You may be due alimony as part of a divorce. Also, the landlord can chose to waive any fees to get you out of the unit you can’t afford. Keeping you in it doesn’t make any sense for them. Just talk to them… guaranteed they know someone that’s been screwed over before (or had it happen to them).

Landlord here… just talk to the landlord and explain. We all know someone that got screwed by a shitty ex and also know you can’t squeeze juice that isn’t there. If you can’t pay, their best option is to turn the unit around as quickly as possible. You may have to move quickly, but I suspect they’d let you leave without fines.

Reply to Hot Water Tank's Hot Water Runs Out Quickly by Pomegranate4444
Your initial memory could be during the summer time when it takes less hot water to make a shower. Or fewer teenagers, lol. A cracked tube, dead element, and full of sediment are other things to check.
I upgraded my 50 gal tank wjth a 105 gallon Marathon years ago. Cranked up the temp a bit and installed regulators on the showers to prevent excessively hot water coming out. Even with a family of six, we never run out of water.
