Reply to what are some Movies where the Wolf ISN'T the Main Antagonist or isn't a Villain that stays a Villain? by LUIGIISREAL2017
It’s worth pointing out that the Brothers Grimm were more researchers than creative writers. The folk tales they wrote down were popular tales of the day, collected and recorded by the brothers.

Reply to Good Murder Mysteries? by nchammer3031
Gosford Park - an excellent example of the classic murder mystery set in a posh English family home
Charade - a bit more playful and comedic, with lovely 1960s style
Brick - stylized neo-noir set among high schoolers
Zero Effect - blackmail rather than murder mystery, but follows a fun detective inspired by Sherlock Holmes

I’d say that both of these movie adaptations dropped a lot of the interesting philosophical aspects from the books.
If you want to engage with the more philosophical themes, you might want to both read and watch them.

Reply to comment by u2sunnyday in How do you feel about the trope of the secondary love interests of the main characters getting together? by forbiddenmemeories
I think you’re missing the specificity of this trope. It’s not just dating people who you’ve met through others. It’s when your ex dates your current parter’s ex.
Of course that does indeed happen in real life, but I’d say it’s odd enough to be remarked on. [Edit: maybe especially among straight couples?]
In fiction, it’s common enough to arguably be cliché.
