This isn't about maintenance, it's about construction projects closing sidewalks and not providing a safe alternative.

That said, PA should really change that law, because it's a stupid anti-pedestrian law. Local government should be responsible for all public right-of-ways, whether they're for motor vehicles or pedestrians.

No, you should be able to defend yourself against someone using violence against you.

It isn't about property or killing them. It's about protecting yourself from serious harm or death. If a 90 lb. school kid shoves you, you don't get to kill them, because a reasonable person wouldn't consider that to be a serious/deadly attack.

Nope, but there's no way to know if theft is the ultimate goal. If somebody is attacking you, you don't know how far they're willing to go. And even shoving somebody to the ground can kill them (not that this is a reasonable thing for a healthy adult to worry about). But the theft isn't the problem, the assault is.

John Morgan is from Orlando.

And people don't like any attorney because the 1980s and 1990s were full of corporate propaganda discouraging litigation because it was the last resort after the regulatory state was dismantled. And personal injury is often focused at corporations, not individuals.

You mean Orlando? Where people generally like him. And he's known mostly for being an alcoholic that regularly buys a dive bar rounds. And has done more to legalize marijuana than anyone else?

Edit: Morgan was also a big pusher of Florida's $15 minimum wage push a few years ago.

Sometimes I wonder if the suburbanization and carification of American society isn't a big part of the downfall of newspapers. If you're driving everywhere you miss those opportunities of time to read a paper or do a crossword.

Newspapers are in a weird spot because they're vitally important and making money. But private equity parasites are never happy and think that you can cut your way to profitability. They want to bleed newspapers into good health.

They're obviously wrong. People are willing to pay for quality.

Good news for Philly is that the Inquirer is owned by a non-profit and is healthy. Be glad that you're not in a Gannett or McClatchy market. They're really screwing things up.

Edit: to make it more clear, newspapers have a private equity problem. Not a readership or revenue problem.

Unfortunately a lot of newspapers insist on the same amount of content, but in a smaller format. So games have to be fit into tighter spaces. If you contact them they might make an adjustment to give more room.

Cryptoquotes are always trouble because you have to balance space between the lines (some people do the puzzle above the line and others below it) with type size.
