Yeah the Iowas definitely seem more suited for hard use. I’ll keep an eye on them :)

I looked at the SFB’s as well but the rounder toe box won me over. I dig the SFB’s overall profile though and a lot of people seem to love that shoe :)

Interesting. I’ve heard thinner sock can help with some of the snugness. What sort of activities do you wear yours for? Do you feel like they do the job well for what you need?

Did you buy the GTX model or the regular ones? I’ve also read elsewhere that they can take a little time to break in.

Hmm, fair enough. Sorry to hear you had that experience. I’d be disappointed as well if it was that inconsistent. I think I have the benefit of the seller I’m eyeing offering a 30 day refund.

This is the first I’ve heard of this issue and I’m slightly discouraged hearing that. Any chance the different models could have a factor in the sizing? As for the two Quarries, they definitely have the same manufacturer? How far apart were the purchases?

I feel like BIFL could definitely translate as “I love these so much” that you’d be happy to buy another pair once they’ve been worn out. I didn’t know what other sub to post this to so I can get 5+ years from them, I’d be satisfied. But yeah, I’m not going to be doing anything heavy duty in them and they’ll be in my rotation of other footwear if I buy them.

The zephyrs look nice :) I wouldn’t mind a more military profile if they were for outdoor work/hiking. I’m looking to use mine for more every day use like commute. What size shoes do you normally wear and is that what you chose for the Danners? How quickly did they start to wear down?
