Look at it this way, when Obama was in power he could have introduced laws which restricted free speech in the name of hate speech. Maybe he bans a few words and phrases no one like and life goes on. But then 8 years later his term is up and he hands over to Donald Trump. Now Obama is no longer deciding who can say what, Trump is. Do you think he would have used this power well?
What is and isn't offensive isn't fact, it's opinion. What some people see as a funny joke others see as hate speech and you shouldn't make laws based on opinions, they need to be based on facts.

Real question if you just put butter, toast and some cheese would this work? Maybe not enough moisture so could add baked beans i guess.

What they mean is they don't want to put the players in a position where they have to either risk getting sent home from a tournament they have spent there whole lifes training for by wearing an armband or getting attacked on social media and have people shouting for sponsors to cancel them for refusing to wear an arm band.
It was done to take the decision away from the players so they can't be blamed for either outcome.

Imagine training and dedicating your whole life into playing a sport and finally getting to the worlds greatest tournament and the opertunity to show the world how good you are and then just throwing it all away for some political statement.
There athletes not politicians...

Why does it? It seems odd to me that you can use some chemicals but not others. Like caffeine is ok but amphetamine isn't? Just allow it all then there is no need to have some one draw an imaginary line between allowed and not allowed.
