It was an informational talk at the library. It seemed legit and there were a couple of speakers (one was from the city of Pgh, can't remember who the others were), they even talked about getting your nearest neighbors to sign off or something to appease the permit requirements. But my takeaway was the cost of the permit and the amount of land needed was larger than my lot, so I didn't explore it further. I'm sure things have been updated as this was about 10 years ago.

I looked into it a few years ago and the permit fee was $350 and the requirements were for more land than I had to place a coop far enough from property lines. 😞

Reply to PSA: Gillece will outright lie to you and sabotage your HVAC system if you call them for a service check so you'll buy a new one from them. by [deleted]
When the time does come for your boiler replacement, Frew Plumbing did one for me with upgraded tech for about $8000. They had been nursing my old one along for several years and never pressured me to replace until it was actually time. Gillece - I could go on about my experience with them. Suffice to say their $99 drain clearing thing actually costs $600 with a whole lot of attitude thrown in.

Reply to Odd question but are garbage disposals just not really a thing here or is a coincidence I just don't see any on pretty much any rentals I look at? by Sunfish-Studio
My house is 100+ yrs old and until I had my house rewired, there was no disposal. When I rewired, I had them add one.

Tyrone is way out there and kind of sits in a weird place between mountains and cross winds can certainly change the road conditions quickly. If they have any intention of driving in the direction of Ebensburg, AWD would be most beneficial. If they are staying around Altoona, shouldn't matter.

I'd love to ditch the fax but that seems to be the only way shops and dealers will communicate. You ask for an email address and they get all sketchy like they're sharing their SS#
Dealers aren't AS bad, but service depts and smaller shops all still use fax.

Absolutely not. Philly fans are terrible people who don’t deserve a winning team. Football and hockey. Go Juju!

Everything is more complicated with that tunnel. Having once spent 2 hours inside a closed tunnel waiting on state police engaged elsewhere, it doesn't even take something major to snarl. Don't know why state police are required to clear the scene but they are. Now every time I go thru those tunnels I think about the afternoon I spent sitting on the barriers with the dude who smashed into me. He apologized 9,000 times and his boss showed up on scene to scream at him (he was driving a work truck). Then we were given the finger from 9,000 people who had been stuck in traffic outside the tunnel once they reopened. good times.
