Omg these threads are grating.

Alicent is also a spoiled daughter of a high lord who has the second most important position in the kingdom, had been the companion to two separate kings at a very young age, went a long with her fathers plan to seduce the king while he was in mourning so she could become queen, ruined her relationship with her best friend over it, and then undermined her husband's wishes for her former best friend by disparaging her as much as possible to the point where her children hated their nephews and then stole the thrown for her child when her husband wasn't even cold in the ground.

Alicent just isn't a particularly sympathetic character. Rhaenyra at least was undermined from the very beginning because people did not want her to be queen. Alicent was the result of deliberate maneuvering over many years

There's several reasons.

  1. Star Wars burnout is real and it's not considered a high quality franchise anymore.
  2. Despite popular opinion, people do in fact like Star Wars for Jedi's, Skywalkers, lightsabers, the force, the Sith, etc and taking that out of it to have a more political thriller style show isn't necessarily as appealing as some fans always thought it would be.
  3. It starts out slow so you add in all that and it becomes a turn off at the beginning for some people when you compound the above on it.

2 might be favorite as a pure 24 season. I love season 1 but it’s very different from the rest of the show (also the only one that lived up to its premise). 5 is probably the objective best and peak of the show.

I agree on 4 being weak. People like it because of Marwan but the season is a slog and does the opposite of what season 2 did well

The one that is good... Though I don't think OP gets the concept of "worth the wait". The whole point is that the wait built up to the good stuff and the show is better for going through all that and it paid off.

No a Mary Sue is an writer stand in. She doesn't need to be liked by everyone, she can be disliked by all the wrong people. Wednesday is literally only disliked by obnoxious shitty privilege people in the film that are made out to be people that deserved to be taken down a peg. Even the original parody Mary Sue had the silly green androids capturing her. It's okay for antagonists not to like her. Wednesday pretty much won in every situation of the two films and flipped every situation on it's head and could easily manipulate people into thinking she was doing the right thing. Wednesday in the movies is smarter than everyone she comes against and pretty easily outmaneuvers them all the characters that you would want to like Wednesday generally like her. The only difference between her and a conventional Mary Sue is the typical Addams Family twist that she's very macabre.

The show Wednesday isn't that. She constantly faces obstacles she can't overcome because some of her qualities are presented as flaws that hurt her. Not the case in the films.

Ironically the theme parks are why I doubt Apple would want Disney. They probably don’t want in on that business and it’s so crucial to Disney revenue. I could see them trying to snag Disney Plus and merge it with Apple TV to get exclusive deals with them

I actually agree with this. It's one of the more cliche and cookie cutter stories in Breaking Bad. Stereotypical couple that is a bad influence on each other and the girl gets between her boyfriend and his partner/mentor.

It's kind of annoying that so much of Jesse's story has to be tied to her and she's some sort of sacred calf for him. The constant shipping is also not all that great for me.

It kinda feels like the most low effort part of the show.

Also her personality causes a lot of her own problems throughout the series. She's by no means treated as perfect Mary Sue. Ironically, the Christina Ricci version from the films was a lot closer to a Mary Sue because she was almost always in the right on every subplot, got one over on absolutely everyone, always had the upperhand and was portrayed as far too intelligent for anyone else to compete with.

It's a perfectly executed young adult style show and the lead and supporting cast do between exceptionally well to very well. The biggest week points are Gomez and Morticia who just do not have the charisma. This is especially evident when we get some flashbacks with different actors when they were younger and they are far closer to what I expect from them.

There’s literally no metric that says it’s a flop lol. If it’s a flop HOTD is a flop since they had similar viewership lol.

Imagine ignoring reality this much because you hate a show lol.

Some of you are really funny with how far you are willing to make yourselves look ridiculous
