I've had mine for a couple years and have had no issues whatsoever. TBH its the first issue ive heard over this amp as its known for being reliable, clean and detailed. Sorry you had that experience.

u/uqil one thing I might mention that I had one issue with the THX 789 and that I didn't realize it had an AUTO OFF SWITCH on the back and it confused the hell out of me at first when I'd leave the amp on and Id come back to find it turned off a short time later.

I would check to make sure your auto off switch is disabled if you are having issues with it turning off randomly. It took me some sleuthing to figure out what was going wrong.

I tend to wrap loose tubes or tube pairs in bubble wrap or paper and then put them either in ziplock bags with gaffing tape for labeling or in a small box and seal the bubble wrapped tube pair with a gaffing tape label.

Most tubes come in branded and labeled boxes already and you can also store them in there and stack em in another larger box, add some crumple loose paper or wrap the tubes in their boxes in bubble wrap if you want to extend the life of the original boxes. Store in a larger box. That's what I did anyway. I ended up settling on a really good end game for me pairing and haven't really tube rolled since, and I bought ALOT of tubes that I maybe shouldnt have for my Little Dot MK2... oops.

What tube amp are you currently tube rolling on?

What are you using to power them? Amp/DAC combo? Amp? Desktop Motherboard audio? Laptop?

Are you using PEACE APO EQ?

Ive had no issues with the X2HR on my Fiio K9 Pro's treble or any of its sound qualities on my Little Dot Mk2 tube amp, or the THX 789 amp I have. I'm running PEACE APO and EQ on Windows 10. Currently my K9 Pro is hooked up via USB.

I did however change out the pads on my X2HR with Dekoni suede pads as they are far superior both in comfort and sound to the OG stock pads. Maybe that has something to do with the fact I've had no treble or other frequency issues?
