Was Caspian tiger not a large cat? I have heard of Tasmanian Tiger, it looked more like a dog, which would be hard to clone and was really a large marsupial.

Same. Seems less risky by far than getting Covid while unvaxxed. Because no one can be certain what Covid might do.

I'm sorry for the loss of your furbabies, I know how that feels. Sounds like there are some great dogs in your life to love though and that's a good thing. After we lost our big sweet lab mix we jumped back in probably a little too soon and brought home a little beagle mix on impulse. She's nuts, but I love that little stinker.

Go on amazon and look up carpet rakes. They are not expensive and can save you a lot of money over fancy vacuum cleaners. You can rake up the hair quite fast. Sometimes I didn't even need to vacuum, it was just fur.

I never got them for years. I was about your age and quite healthy. Caught flu, almost died in the ER. Spent days in the hospital and was put on oxygen for most of it. Got a giant bill that took forever to pay off. Now I get the shot every year.

And he sang beautifully. I remember that most for some reason. I watched the show even when I was really a little too old for it, since I kind of had to raise myself. His kindness and love of music were inspiring. RIP.

Mine were active and had pretty good habits. Leukemia is what took my grandfather in his forties. They didn't have as much to treat it back then. Grandma had a sudden aneurysm while gardening. Just seems to be a short life expectancy on that side of the family. Aunts and uncles went early too. The other side is longer lived but tend to be mad as hatters. Funny how that works sometimes.

You and I are probably fairly close in age. You are surely right about people today not having personal memories of the devastation caused by some of these diseases in the past, though they seem to have a bit of a short term memory problem when it comes to Covid. Maybe they are the ones who didn't have their lives turned upside down by the loss of a family member, or were in denial.
I worry about these anti-vaxxers, there seem to be so many, and measles is indeed not to be trifled with. Do you think our society will ever regain its respect for real science at some point? I don't expect to live to see it, but I hope it happens.

I think people were a little smarter about vaccines when polio vaccine became available. t was a big deal to my parents that we had miraculous vaccines in these modern times thanks to science, to protect kids. That seemed to be the attitude.

It sounds very complicated. Thank you for explaining the process. I assume governments or the very rich are the only ones who could do that on a large scale.
I will of course be long dead by 2050, but I still fear for those who come after, having to cope with all that.

It's okay, I just always had a soft spot for Tasmanian Tiger. I think they were lovely. There's film footage of the last surviving one and he looked so sad. I read he gave a photographer a nip on the butt once, don't know if it's true.
