In the Venture Capital space, you can make lots of money over promising and under delivering for years. The big red flag is when the square footage allotted to marketing is larger than the square footage assigned to Research & Development. Sometimes you can actually measure the scam.

Destabilization is baked into the business model. The shareholders don’t want it to change, and certainly the company management team doesn’t want it to change.
That effectively leaves us at a perpetual state of uncertainty and impending doom- from which a small number of people will get very rich.

The algorithms that drive traffic are weighted to prefer more incendiary emotional responses. Anger and hate drives clicks and shares as people are determined to convert their friends to their own point of view. Nobody hate-clicks on a cute kitten.
