Reply to Russian President Vladimir Putin unwittingly accelerated the European Union’s green transition with his war in Ukraine, with the 27-nation bloc reducing its dependency on Russian fossil fuels and increasing its renewable energy use over the past year, the EU’s climate czar said Tuesday. by MrGuttFeeling
I do find it wonderfully ironic that the things Putin/ Russia feared, such as the loss of the fossil fuel market, the irrelevancy of Russia on the international stage and the 'advance' of NATO, all came to pass FASTER because he foolishly invaded Ukraine.
Now he's got a re-militarising NATO (which now has even more member states), those same nations abandoning Fossil Fuels as fast as they can practically do so and Russia is pretty much a pariah state at this point... AND a staggering loss of war materiel, international prestige and, most tragic of all, something like a few tens of thousands dead Russians.
As thin as it is when it comes to this war, there is some silver linings here. I just hope that, once Ukraine has repulsed Russia, they can join NATO, the EU and get help rebuilding their nation.

Well, they aren't teasing us. Renewables have, despite everything going on the world, being growing exponentially for the last 12 years. And it's only getting faster thanks to Putin trying to fuck with Ukraine.
It doesn't look like much because doubling of 0.0001% is nothing to be excited about. But, we are getting to the stage where renewables are now the preferred new power source because they're cheaper and have a higher rate of return investment.
Legacy systems (fossil fuel plants and some nuclear) are being deactivated rather quickly. Scotland, for example, closed and demolished it's last coal-fired power station a few years ago and we have such a surplus of energy we're actively helping keep the lights on in England.
I think there's room for some (cautious) optimism about our energy future. Same with food production in terms of artificial fermentation, 'vat grown' meat and vertical or indoor farming (hydroponics, aquaponics, agrivoltaics as well).
These things aren't going to be adopted because they're going to save the world (which is the morally right reason to do so) but because they're cheaper, more efficient and require less risk on the part of the people investing in them. Our main issues around renewables are reliable, long-term storage and sourcing the materials required to make them. Even then there's all kinds of cool progress in material science that's helping those things move along as well.
And sorry for this mini-TED talk of a reply :P

Reminds me of a bit from a comedian I once saw on Russel Howard Hour (Troy Hawke), and I'm paraphrasing a bit here:
"You know who doesn't have Imposter Syndrome? Imposters. Go pretend you work at B&Q for a day and see what it's like to be an imposter. You can get angry about anything and it won't mean shit tomorrow. So when you feel like you have Imposter Syndrome, remember what it's like when you, eventually, get kicked out by security. Remember you are physically, emotionally and intellectually capable of your REAL job because you self-analyse and self-reflect. And because you self-analyse and self-reflect and self-doubt means you're good at your job. You give so much of a shit about what you do that you're worrying about not doing a good job."
Makes the pain of Imposter Syndrome a bit easier to bear knowing it's because I give a shit and, hopefully, that means I'm doing a good job.

Is there a way to find out what that inherent thing is? I genuinely don't know what I could bring besides a lot of nerdy knowledge and ramblings... Doesn't exactly scream prime friend/ boyfriend material :P

And that's yet another thing Russia has lost: Their future. You've laid out perfectly how they've royally fucked themselves and I'd like to add another factor to the problem. The Russians who were tricked into fighting were the demographic that was meant to provide the next generation. There'll be a MASSIVE gap in their demographics to the point it could tank their already failing system. It's tragic that so many people are going to suffer because of one mans egocentric and maniac need to rebuild the USSR before he's either killed, dies or is removed from power.
As I said in my comment, there's silver linings in this war but this metaphorical dark cloud is tragically massive.
