Right, the energy we use that's produced in Vermont is close to 100% from Renewables. If you notice the article you linked also says only 1/3 of the consumed energy we use in Vermont actually comes from VT. Where does the other 2/3 come from?

Do we though? There was a recent Brave Little State episode about this exact topic. Worth a listen.

I'm curious how many people posting on this topic are actually at work right now and commenting on Reddit when they should be working, myself included.

Lake dunmore had open water last week. The shallower parts freeze quicker, the south end and west side. The east side from Branbury to the north cove was still unfrozen early last week.
Middlebury has an ice rink.

This is my neighbors house... It's not a bad house necessarily, the new "owners" are looking for a flip. They cleaned up the yard from the previous owner, a mason who had piles of rock and brick everywhere. It's a nice spot but right on Route 30 and kind of loud. I think a year ago that house was listing for over 325,000...

edit: I moved to Whitefish, MT in 2001 lived for a year and couldn't afford it being a ski bum, moved back to VT in 2004, took 12 years before we could really find anything affordable, and my salary increased enough to buy anything around Addison County. Good Luck! (and i don't mean that sarcastically!)

And, Cornwall is like the rich suburb of Middlebury... Nothing in Addison County is gonna be cheap unless it's falling over. Look into outskirt towns on the edge of Rutland County, Leicester, Whiting, Brandon... but even then, we rented in Benson for 7 years before we found something affordable in Sudbury.

Reply to I just checked with r/birding, and apparently I DID see a Golden Eagle in Fairfield today! by Alex6095
Hmm, I bet this is an immature bald, this time of year is when second year Bald eagles begin to morph and the under tail looking so white from the base of the tail is indicative of that. Not saying it isn't cuz it's hard to tell from the photos but given there are a lot of balds in that area, my vote is still immature bald. Nice catch on the camera though!

So sad! I spent many a night at McNeil's. Truly an iconic piece of Vermont's history and the first real micro-brewery of Vermont!

April is a good time to drive down some rutted out dirt roads and get stuck in the mud. Nothing gets the adrenaline going like trying to get your truck unstick from the mud especially when you get another truck stuck trying.

Only about 1/4 of our electricity comes from Hydro Quebec. And another 12% from other hydro resources, 19% nuclear and about 10% each from solar, wind and biomass, the rest is from the mix of sources tied to the New England power grid. Listen to the BLS episode. I was enlightened and not trying to argue but I was of the same mindset and have a better understanding from learning more about it.
