I didn't mean fully linear in relation to the complaints I had seen, I meant it as in you turn the dial and it rotates smoothly without doing like, little snaps if that makes sense. What I heard about the complains I could live with, but I couldn't live without a smooth, freely rotating dial.

But I've read your other comment and I understand and agree with what you said.

Yeah? People seem to complain that it doesn't do much until it's into the second half of a full turn, haven't tried the thing myself so can't vouch for the accuracy of that.

Although imo if it's fully linear without 'stepping' if that makes sense, and isn't scratchy, then it's a decent volume knob.

Made it stock crack first, stuck with that for a while and then did the speedball upgrade after. IMO the speedball upgrade strips all of what I like about the 6XX away and makes it pretty clinical. Cool if that's what people are into but I'd rather buy specific headphones for that application.

Not necessarily even good; 'different' I'd say. I never did vibe much with my Bottlehead Crack + Sennheiser 6XX which are almost universally lauded among those who have tried the combo as being a pairing bestowed upon the audiophile community by God himself (of course I'm exaggerating but really, they came highly recommended).

I much prefer the sound of solid state, but undeniably there is a difference between the two; not bad, not necessarily good, just not to my taste. Weirdly though I can totally understand why people like the pairing.

You'll be okay, just be careful when you open the housing. Even then I'm sure there are replacements if it cracks or something. Personally I'm all about my desktop setup, so much so that I gifted my old iPod Classic in exchange for help soldering together a Bottlehead Crack tube amp; great pairing with my Sennheiser 6XX.

Good headphones literally changed the game for me on CSGO. On other games? Not so much. Like you said, fractionally... Maybe. Still fucking hate CSGO though.
