Get a stack. It looks good. And you can upgrade/replace.JDS Atom + JDS Dac or Schiit depending on which have the lower shipping cost.
You could also got the used route.
I don't really like Fiio it sounds too cheap to me, they had a lot of bad/average products before becoming OK, but that's just my impression.
I'd rather have a UK company (Schiit) or JDS (JDS Labs) product (that will have most part sourced from China, I know)

There are also the other tips from Etymotic that expand in your ear canal.
I have the same problem and those are the one that provide the best "fit" but I loose some "seal".

Did you try without the "Crack" ? Cuz IIRC the crack is meant to make it sound less tubey?

The sound engineer created.
And sometimes they don't even think about it and use low tier recording material. Or have bad engineers.

So you always listen to your headphones on the same computer/place ?
Never in bed ?
How do you manage EQs especially if you have different profiles/headphones ?
I have my smartphone + XDUoo 05 Plus, as well as work laptop, personal laptop, personal computer. Too much of a hassle for me to EQ.

What are you powering them up with ?
I'm not sure if they're the same sensivity but HE-4XX are the most power hungry headphones of my collection (see flair).

Well we all are ok wearing massive, sometimes 1+kg headphones.
That plus we accepted the Verums' look.

Turn off audio enhancements.
Get a Spotify/Tidal subscription if you don't have quality files, if you don't have quality files no headphone will sound good.
Get you favorite treat and listen to your favorites albums :).

Yeah, the Marriage rabbit hole is not worth it.
Eventually you'll have to sell your wife to buy new headphones..

The parts for HD650 are hardly available, I had to pay for a whole headband assembly just to change my broken "hinge".

I call this utter bullshit.
When you're depressed you don't feel like anything. So if they meant "listening while in bed and doing nothing else", sure, otherwise, 100% disagree.

DT770 do not need an amp, do they ? I've never tried them.
But my HD58x do not need one for sure... only if louder == better...

I've had them for more than a year, don't know exactly.
The fact you can replace the tips and also the filters and also the cable makes me think that unless they fall on a wet floor they will always work.

Yes Or your MP3 320kbps could be a 128kbps upsampled. So the best way is to use Spotify or Tidal.
